Struggling To Market This Site - How Should I Do It?

    Hi,

I'm trying to market www.TheBlogExchange.com - A website for buying and selling blogs on. Can't seem to get many auctions started.

I've posted articles on blog forums and offered free listings to them, but I'm not getting anyone in.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks, Will

It may take some time, also you should keep posting on different forums and blog comments.

    Thanks for that Tarkan. :)

Does anyone have any ideas on where I can purchase advertising that is almost guaranteed to bring in some good traffic?

It does take time and if you keep posting on forums and add it to directories it will get picked up,another thing you could do is add your site on sitepoint.com under Advertise Your Services.

Surely sending emails like that is just spamming...?

Well if you do send emails put your site in your email signature as then your aren't spamming, you could also advertise it on my teen forum where many of the members enjoy blogs so they might be interested, it's in my signature.

You could try, if you haven't, posting comments at namepros.com. The marketplace at Sitepoint.com is a great resource for buy and selling blogs. Adwords may work too.

Also, if you're a decent writer, you could contact some bloggers in your niche or related niches and offer to "guest blog" for them, meaning write a useful article that you allow them to post exclusively on their blog, and which includes a link back to your site in the byline. It's free, and it's a way to get your name and website in front of other people who may be looking to buy/sell blogs.
