Struggling marketer in need of help...

Fellow marketers,
I have tried for sometime now to make money line. My effforts have included everything from podcasts to ebooks. All have failed. I truly just do not know what I'm doing wrong. I have not been able to find work in my rural area for sometime now and I really need something to pull through for my wife and 3 kids. I am not looking for a hand our, ratheer a hand up. I was wondering if there is a warrior out there that could mentor me and accept me as their apprentice. I have 12 years of experience the IT industry. I gave also a good deal if experience in writing. We are really against the wall here and I need my wife to get out of her job as it is causing her pain. Sorry for all the backstory, however I wanted to be transparent with you all. I'm willing to work hard, learn and follow orders. I just need someone to show me how to do this successfully.I just do not have the cash to invest in another failure. Any and all help is needed.

I know what all of that feels like. It took me a year before I made anything at all; today, I earn a full time income online, so it can be done if you are persistent and focused. There are tons of ways through which you can make money from a website or online. you can start with freelancing work. there are tons of free lancing opportunities available here @digital forum or you can visit freelancing websites like freelancer.com or elance.com. If you are good in writing and have experience in IT industry then you can find loads of work.

When it comes to making money from websites then it is a little long process to go through. You will at least need 6 months to start generating money from a website. you can monetize a website through different ways like Google adsense, affiliate marketing, banner ads, selling links and so on. For detailed information on ways to make money visit my website( check the signature). go through the pages and read all the information. if you don't understand anything or don't know how to start then just Google the topic and you will be flooded with info.

First learn then earn. Internet Marketing success isn't a simple thing. It needs a dedicated hardwork through out some months if not years......

For me it took nearly more than a year to set a perfect platform

Try these in order to achieve success
1. Affiliate marketing ( here you are going to promote or sell products of others. By doing this you can know how affiliate marketing works )
2. Try to develop your own unique digital product that targets number of people
3. Sit at home and count money

I've been working on creating a very targeted sales funnel. Having a landing page that captures targeted leads from relevant sites, and then following up with offers via has been beneficial. It takes time.

 

Rob, I think most of us have been in your situation in some way. Maybe not the 3 kids, but I have 2 so I can feel your pain. I agree that the fiverr gig could get you a few buck and might help alliviate some of the stress, but another thing to look into is what you already have the skills for. Maybe you setup a wordpress site and start contacting companies to provide IT advice for a fee. I would think that you can make decent money if you do a hard press. And companies pay pretty decent when you have the knowledge they don't. I hope this helps and good luck!!

 

First thing you need to do is figure out what can you do?

1. What can you do to add value to other marketers businesses or projects?
2. Can you write?
3. Can you design logo's, headers or art?
4. Can you make websites?
5. Can you provide an SEO service?

First, provide a solution to another person's problem and from there start building your business.

The new crazy is called socialmedia, people aka customers started to call me socialmedia expert, but that is not
where I have my diploma's in, it is the tool i used latest - the way we sell online is different then 1994 but if you
look close actually NOTHING changed in the base meaning you can run with a basic gear.

have you ever considered going on websites that pay you for articles or SCO. If you're from me with the concept of arbitrage, you can bring in revenue fairly quickly.

 

There are a lot of online jobs that you can find in the internet. Since you have a background in IT, I suggest you try to apply odesk.com or elance.com, you can present yourself as a virtual assistant or a website designer. You are actually lucky because you have a background in IT and there are a lot of outsourcing corporations looking for people with a background like yours. And remember it takes patience to wait and look for a job. I hope everything goes well with you. ​
