I see a lot of people mentioning SU, but they do have a targeted traffic but you have to pay for it. I think this was already suggested, but Adwords would possibly work for your site.
Get a good link on aboutus.org and any other free wikis out there to discuss your website, it helps for link building.

The reason you use social bookmarking sites is for back links more then traffic. If you put a keyword text in the description of the site it gives you a good anchor text backlink. better backlinks will give you better ranking and more organic traffic from search engines.
I think the traffic from social bookmarking sites like delicious, SU are not worthy enough to be reflected in the adsense earnings. To get more earnings, you should get the targeted traffic. Write original, quality articles in high paying niche (This is very very important) and update your website. Submit your articles to article directories and get the backlinks. One thing you can try, is look for blogs in your niche, and comment on their posts. Quite often they'll comment, back and if you ask something, they might even put a link to you in an article of theirs.
