    Hi,

I have a E-commerce tiles sites, we have five different sections(webpage) on the website. I was trying to create RSS feeds on my website to make it rank well. I just have a simple question regarding this,
Since I have 5 Sections should I create 5 different RSS feed on each web page or can I create just a single Rss feed for the complete website.

    Thanks & Regards,

First, is this static html site, or built with a dynamic content management system? If you used a CMS, the RSS feature should be built into it.

But to answer your question, you should provide an RSS feed for the main page, and for each category.

    Hi,

Its is a dynamic Full Fledge E-Commerce Site. We do have a CMS but strangely I was checking it right now, and i dint see any RSS Feeds. So I think it is compartively tough for us to update CMS. But I can do it !
So from my understanding of what you say, I need to update RSS on all 5 pages including the Home page( Here I am talking about Category pages). But I was checking CNN website they just have a page created services and all the RSS feeds on that http://www.cnn.com/services/rss/ . I was wondering how that works ?

    Thanks !

If your using an E-Commerce Site that is built out of content management system, it should have an RSS feed built into it. You may have to turn it on and maybe configure it from the back end. If this is a commercial grade product that you bought, maybe contact the company you bought it from and ask them about the feed.

You asked about CNN, the CMS that they use has a feed for every section. CNN, Yahoo, BBC - a lot of the major sites have an RSS feed or every category or section. Which is a good example of what I suggested.
