Struck a deal and buyer backed out - strangely

Hi all - first time writer - long time reader...

A DP member has some SEO scripts I wanted to buy as he sells them here for $20. Instead we strike a deal that I build him a simple landing page for these 6 scripts and in return I get the scripts and a domain. (domain is new and fresh and still has 2 weeks to be able to move (60day threshold) - right now I own it as he pushed it to me.

Here is the dilemma - yesterday, the buyer refused to give me a copy of the scripts and wanted the LP first. Not being new to the planet I told him no, it doesn't work that way, send the scripts as promised and I'll zip it up quick and send - he then stated he wanted his domain back - all this for $20 strange ... also odd was that his IP (I know it was his as this link was deep) was on the page for more than 30 minutes - so I am guessing he copied the my writing and whatnot.

So, that being said, I already built the landing page but now he wants to end the deal and wants his domain back.... do I have to give it back? I informed him that the deal was not concluded as my end was done - that he needed to cough up the script to complete. He stated no (I saved the chats). To give him his domain back.

So my question - do I have to give his domain back to him if he canceled even after the work is done? Now, you and I know he scraped the LP I built, and he is looking for a freebie ... just wondering what recourse he had with GoDaddy.

Oh, and if anyone has SEO script software like the ones someone is selling here on DP please let me know.

Certainly sounds like he's trying to scam you.

I doubt you'll get into any trouble with Godaddy. If they query you about it, just politely explain the situation to them. Since the domain is currently in your account, they're unlikely to pursue the matter without some serious proof that you've done something wrong.

No, I wouldn't send him back crap ! The domain is yours for your trouble.
It does sound like he is trying to pull a fast one...over $20 that's pretty weak !

I'd just chalk it up to experience, leave a bad rep on his profile, and move on with the domain in hand.

Once the domain has been pushed, hardly anyone gets involved after the fact since the owner has to physically make the transaction, there is no room for error.

keep the domain, move on with your life, and tell him to do the same since he does
not want to complete the deal, then he should just move on....

If this ends in a bad way, please let the rest of us know who this guy is, so that he doesn't scam anyone else.
