I've searched the forums figuring this had likely been discussed but couldn't find the topic so I'm posting it here.

From what I understand the B (bold) tag is depricated and the strong tag is the way to go. Does anyone know if it's actually supposed to make a difference in the SERPs? Some more than others?

IMO, <b> still have a higher value than <strong> tag..

I'd be curious to know the answer too.

Good point re: "Google still uses <b>". If possible, can others base their answers on verifiable facts/urls, please? ;)

IMO why to take risk ? It is better to use both <b> & <strong> tag in equal proportion.

Here risk doesn't mean danger to site. It means both tags can be implanted on web page for better ranking.

I use <b> becuase it's shorter and easier....but sometimes use strong in template files...

Google uses <b> to bold text on more>>....

I dont know if this matters....
