Looks like there aren't many new threads in this section lately....Hence I started one. I've seen many threads with the title of "sell links in a strong directory/site","strong directory for sale",etc... So here's my question:What kind of directory/site can be called STRONG in your opinion?
Dont know which are strong directories, but by keywords in search engines http://www.google.com/search?q=stro...ient=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official my directory is also strong
I am toooo scared to disagree with Amit-- Rob can break all my bones with one hand Well -- with strong directory -- I myself consider 2 things -- #1. PS --must be above its PR if PR is less than 6- CHECK HERE #2. Inner pages must have PR4+ -- Please CHECK HERE If PR of the directory is 6, then it must have atleast PS of 4.5 and then most inner-pages should have PR4/5. Example These are my personal views only. I calculate strong directories combining both PR and PS.
Yes! jhrang i agree with you PR factor must be high for a strong directory and it also much better amount of traffic per day
no doubt there is revolutionary development and growth seen in the directories business for the last few months. According to me the following factors make the directory more stronger: 1- Natural back links and organic traffic coming on your directory 2- Unique and original content 3- Page Strength of a directory 4- Page Ranks on inner pages as well as on Link Details pages e.g. on Directory Dump, i found few link details pages got PR6 http://www.directorydump.com/ally-web-directory-link-598.html
This is basically imho a buzz word, 'strong' in my interpretation should define a robust directory that has a number of value added attributes covering :- SERP's Rating Traffic Marketing Support Mods Regular content editing Regular new category additions Regular new features etc etc All these points plus many more need to be implemented in a sustainable methodology A good directory all round that is seen to be endeavoring to maintain standards and aim for improvement in a very busy vertical market sector
Yes --Yes --I forgot those factors to mention as I was already too scared of that menacing Photo Amit posted They too are very important -- but I am not sure about traffic. Personally, if I have 200 uniques/day and get 4/5 submissions I am very happy -than say I get 500 uniques and no sale. I am not getting those amount of submissions --though --which is very bad Bottomline --targetted traffic --webmasters unless one can monetize by the huge traffic through AdSense. I also forgot to mention that --before I consider a directory as a strong one --I check its backlink link-strength which is a must. Not only that --whenever I buy a link --from sites other than a directory I check all its strength. My proudest link acquisition so far is a PR6 site-- sitewide --with huge amount of high PR backlinks--links from authority sites --and so on. I wish the site itself becomes an authority site soon which is a strong possibility judging by its domain age, ILQ et.c.
The classification of a Strong Directory for me is its Top Categories are more or less + or - 1 of the homepage or somwhere else of the said directory has the same. Its much pretty the same as what happened to Romow and Ask Directory also. While they have PR5 on homepage innerpages were much more. Find Link Book Directory. While it has PR4 its Top Categories has 5 and 6. IndexSniff has 6 and all Top Categories has 5. If I see a Directory with PR5 and Top Categories has mix 3 and 4 I find it weak. Its suppose to be equal or -1. Just my opinion.
c'mon now, I AM a nice guy. You should know that though. (maybe you didn't know but that is me in the pic hahaha) I just take care of my directories and myself
Yes Rob --no doubt about that --you are the nicest and coolest person. But you are still strong --your biceps are ---they are as strong as your Directory Dump
Take a look at directory's sourcecode just after header section. If you find something like this: this must be definetely STRONG directory.
Actually the "Strong" directories were born after the "Page Strength" tools was released. Conseguently, a strong directory, is a directory with hig Page Strength.
I like dargre's explanation but really it is all what you are comparing it to. I would like to think a strong directory is one that has a 'strong' chance of being in business 6 months from now.
Well said; if you only buy links once you stop paying... Your done. It'st he dir's that naturally build backlinks buy providing quality resources which I beileve to be best. Naturally they have a high PS / PR as well.
