Does anybody know if Adwords allows you to use the strikethrough text (offering a discount for example) in the Adwords title or description?

Yes they do allow it. I've used it and it definitely helps with your CTR. =)

How do you get that strikethrough text in? When I've tried it keeps being displayed as norml text.

Misread the question. You can offer "50% Off Sale" but no strikethrough text. Sorry!

I would try (50% Sale). This helps drive attention and differentiates you from your competitors.

    Cheers

Actually I have used non-english characters in Adwords Ads

    You can also use { [ * # @ % ' > < ~ ` ^ +

Didn't do much for CTR% as I think people could not fathom the ad titles being so completely different lol....

    :D
