I am in the process of making a video production series for a specific interest group.

I am looking for a place to host my content - in higher quality - so youtube won't cut it for me.

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find such technologies/sites that provides this?

    thanks.

Well what is high quality to you? You can use a divx site, DivxVine or StageVu. It simply depends. You can use Youtube and just upload using there HD Service that they now offer.

There a few things to consider when hosting your own videos.

    1. Bandwidth (hosting videos takes bandwidth, you need quite a bit because many users viewing one video at the same time will make it lag.)

    2. Space (obviously high quality vids take up a lot of space)

    3. Content (is it your own? if so, look at proper web hosts where you pay a fixed fee per month)

    4. Feasibility (are you offering the right product? are you offereing the product right? - two big differences that can make or break you)

    Regards

    Scott

Well that's depends on the quality of the bandwidth from the referring datacenter. If the datacenter has zero latency, it won't lag.

bilawal360 do you care to expand upon that please?

In my post I mentioned about the host of the films that ikarus wishes to upload not the datacentres. That is a different topic completely.

The datacentres are extremely unlikely to make you lag, this is because of the way the internet is joined together.

We connect to local datacentres, they connect to regional and regional connect to world.

It is as mentioned when hosting movies/films or any other items that are large in space and will use a lot of bandwidth more ideal to study the server you are looking to host on.

There are many hosts that will sell unmetred bandwidth but as I said, feasibility is what should and probably has done before getting to this stage.

    Good luck!

Unmetered is a "fancy" word for "we don't care how much bandwidth you use". However, the risks about that is if you use all the bandwidth .. what's everybody else got to use?
