Here's my situation: I am biding $0.10 for a keyword. My CTR is 1.72% and my average position is 33.8 Now I want to move to the top 3 position. What is the strategy for acheiving that? Is this what I do: 1. Bid the highest possible amount so I get to the top 3. Then slowly reduce my bid down by a cent every day. or 2. Bid an amount that will move me to the top 10 postion (first page). And from there on wait for Google's system to promote me to top 3 based on the merit of my CTR and Landing Page Quality or 3. Perhaps someone knows a better way Thanks for your insight.
Nah, go for the first one. You'll don't know when Google gonna promote you based on page quality etc. It take's time. Go and outbid your compatitors, and see what happen. But be carefull, they might play chicken with you.
Why are you determined that you have to be in the top three - if the top three positions are occupied by numpties that are bidding way more than the clicks are worth (which does happen), then this is almost certainly not the most profitable. There's not a lot of point in advertising in position 34, but you need to work out the value of a conversion to you. There's no point in bidding over this amount, so it should be an absolute upper limit. My blog on epiphanysolutions.co.uk talks about finding the 'sweet spot', but without doing the sums, you can never optimise your campaign. An optimal campaign is one that makes as much money as possible, not the one that appears at the top of the search results...
Keep in mind that ad position is not determined by landing page quality. Moving up in the rankings from top 10 to top 3 would work only if your ad has considerably better CTR than the ads above it. I would tend to go with the first approach.
bid a LOT more and use "position preference" to aim for the 3rd spot in the ads. then slowly reduce bids as your CTR has gone up... oh, and 10ct is very low for any keyword... (bid, not cpc) It'll cost you money
Getting that sort of CTR so low in the rankings suggests to me that you have a keyword has searchers shopping around for either: a) the best deal b) hard-to-find information What this means is that you won't necessarily get an increase in sales in proportion with your rise in position. I would try for position 9 or 10. See if paying extra to be there helps your ROI. If it does, slowly work your way up the page until your find the sweet spot. I wouldn't be surprised if #10 works out best
Well to achieve 1-3 spot you have to optimize the Ad Text with landing page. It will not effect immediately. It will take 2-3 days if you have RIGHT KEYWORDS which getting traffic consistently.
Yes sure .... that increases the CTR It's also important to use negative keywords. For example if you have a curtains website and pay for the keyword "windows" use microsoft XP, 2000 ... as negative keywords. If someone searches for a Microsoft Windows Product nobody clicks on your curtain ads and your CTR decrease
Raise the bid.... Improve on CTR.... By improving CTR the cost per click will reduced.... when the CPC is low and CTR is good just reduce the bid. I generally do that.....
