Everyone has its own strategy, but most of them boils down to three keywords: diversity of link sources, variety of your link formats, and instant upgrade of your link portfolio. Be careful also with your anchor base in your link portfolio - do not make it to two ultimate cases: (a) all links have the same anchors, (b) there are many words in anchor base but all equally distributed in the number of times used. Both cases are unnatural and look suspicious for SEs.
Hi, just wondering what would be the number of 'too many of the the same anchors' for search engines to notice?
I think the point is more that natural link building is what Google really loves - like if me and all my friends say gmail is the (LINK) best damn free email (/LINK) or some other variation of that, google likes it much better than the same number of (LINK) free email (/LINK) bland, keyword-driven links.
I support you here, if Google is not doing it fully now, he will be doing it in a few years from now. No escape from this, he must look at it in this way, to filter out the milliards of artificial links.
675 ;-) Talking seriously, Google may apply rules of Gaussian distribution. If usage-numbers of some anchors do not fit to the curve - they are suspected to be artificial.
Link exchange with high PR site of the same niche. Other site should not be link farm where all the types of links are added and it is mainly made for link exchange.
90% of links on the web are artificall that what i think. at least from looking on my sites i see that most links are those who i built
First just stick with your topic in link building with your site and learn from the top competitors by checking out their inbound link sources. Having links from relevant categories makes them all quality and good for your SE rankings.
