I am brand new to the online marketing business and I've been doing a lot of reading about how to generate traffic to my websites. I ran across this article from Gina Hinton (gather.com) and thought it would be helpful to others who are just beginning.

A website marketing tactic is the things you do to get targeted webtraffic to visit your website. There are numerous things you can do to get visitors. There is not one ´correct´ way. Instead, you need to look at your options and acquire the internet marketing method that brings the best results.

One online marketing method is article submission. One advantage about this plan is that there is no requirement to spend money to begin with. If you are not an expert at writing, article marketing can still be cheaper than other kinds of promoting.

Write 25 quality articles. Sign up at EzineArticles.com and submit the ten articles (you can only submit ten when you have a basic account.

Afterward those ten are accepted, you will be upgraded and can submit more). Then, go over to Squidoo.com and make a lens and post 5 of your articles on your lens. Pass over to HubPages.com and construct a Hub with five articles. The remaining five articles should be posted to varied directories. You can save lots of time by using so called article distribution software.

Another website marketing tactic is to use pay per click marketing to attract targeted traffic to your website. For this tactic, you will sign up with Yahoo´s Search Marketing, Google´s Adwords, or some of the less popular and cheaper options like 7Search.

The benefit of PPC marketing is brings traffic almost instantly. You will start seeing an direct boost of targeted visitors to your website. The other side is that except you know what you are doing, you can lose your shirt with it. So, take the time to learn about PPC before starting, set your initial click values low, and define a daily cap on the amount you are willing to spend before you start.

Another internet marketing strategy is called forum marketing. What you do is join a forum that is relevant to your website topic. First, you should react to other member´s posts with qualified tips. Then, you have got to start your own posts offering information or post wise questions. After you have got 25 posts, create a signature containing a backlink to your site. When people know you as respected member of the forum, they will be weird about what else you have to offer and will check your website out. Forum Marketing can bring you an amazing amount of high targeted website traffic.

There are many ways to get visitors to your website. You need to develop a website marketing strategy to get traffic to your site.

You can easily increase the amount of traffic and backlinks you build with your article marketing efforts by using the Link Builder Pro software application! This tool will easily submit your articles to lots of Web 2.0 websites and much more, read my Link Builder Pro review to learn more about it!!

Are these strategies going to get me moving in the right direction??

I agree with the article submission as I've tried it and it really worked. You just need to spend some time in creating quality articles but in the end, it'll be worth it. I haven't tried PPC yet as I don't have the money for it.
