Strategic Advice sought on Pitch page

    Hello,

I came via Google to this old thread here on DP: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1187408

I read it all and realized that this forum may actually have some members who might be able to answer a question I have.

My business advisor said I shall use Clickbank, so I started to work through it how to use it and I think I understand - I am new to "Affiliate" stuff. However there's something I would appreciate to get advice on from knowledgeable, experienced Affiliate Marketers:

I have launched a BIG website, content-wise, not yet traffic-wise. Lot's of useful information on it. But I also have eBooks I could offer via Clickbank. Now, what's the best way to do it?

    1) I add a "Sign up" page to my menu header (as I learnt it in a video on youtube) which is the "pitch page" and comprises all my e-books (in English and German language for now) which I will of course have to list with Clickbank first. I would then explicitely sell all the e-books only through Clickbank in order to motivate the Affiliates. Clickbank's "Hop" link directs to this pitch page.

    Or

    2) I register a completely separate URL which will get just the one pitch page (and Thank you page). In this case I feel I'd have to "re-invent the wheel", meaning I'd have to install and write this all new. So I wonder, why?, if I could integrate it in my existing website, and save time and unnecessary effort!?

Please, what are the pros and cons of each option, considering especially that I want to motivate the Affiliates to market my e-books. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    David

P.S.: You don't need to mention other things like eg. sales commission etc. I've read everything on Clickbank and the only question unanswered is the strategic one above. Thanks.

Oh, one point to add: What if Clickbank goes bust (joking), no but what if I have to use other affiliate network sites? Or is it even recommendable to use several? And if so, how do you set up the pitch page, different for everyone?
