    Hi PHPers :)

I recently planned to buy a ready made MP3 site in a forum, but i had a problem. Two sellers sent me a PM with their sites : http://topmp3.info/ and http://mp3topdownload.com/ .They are definitely using the same scripts, but topmp3.info , looks smaller than the other one, even though, both are of same File Size

I am confused..how can this happen??If i buy topmp3.info, will i be able to bring it back to the size of the other normal site??If yes, how to do it .

    Thanks.

some text is changed in "Lyric Search" and the ads are different("your ad here" link).
but yes its exactly the same code.

why is it bothering you so much?

Small changes in text will not affect the file size incrementally, why does the site look small??

I'm confused, how is it "smaller"? Do you mean by traffic or something?

No guys :(..the site is so small by its appearance. The text does not play any role at all.

Check this another site with same Custom script guys.

    http://5800user.com/index.php

Both mp3topdownload and 5800 user have bigger appearance that http://topmp3.info .How is it possible??

    Thanks

You probably have really wide screen resolution. To one who has 1024x768 resolution, it looks the same, no site is "smaller" than the other.

However, it's "smaller" to you because probably topmp3.info uses fixed width, whereas the other sites use fluid (which stretches depending on how wide your screen is).

This can be done by a simple edit in the stylesheet and is no big deal. You can specify it in your site's stylesheet either way, and revert to whichever you want no problem. Some sites prefer fixed-width layouts, while some prefer the fluid type.
I, personally, prefer fixed-width, because you know that no matter what screen resolution your users are using, they will all be seeing the exact same thing irregardless.

The .info is missing more files than the .com when you view both under Safari's activity window.

The files missing appear to be graphical, which would make a pretty big difference in file sizes. IF you ask me, its like someone tried to copy one into the other, but didn't grab every file, and in safari you end up seeing something like this... (in Safari's activity viewer)

It sounds like you're talking about difference in appearance... which seems to be like a Template / CSS issue that you have no need to worry about

I just had a look at those websites. And both are almost same and is using the same script for sure.

But I believe there must be a admin panel in the software using which you can handle the text and content inside.

More over editing the css files you can change the design too and the banner etc. If the script allow it or if it is unencrypted.

A fixed-width layout has a width specified in their css (but as HivelocityDD said, you can probably edit it in an admin panel). :)
If editing via CSS, just remove width: 900px (depends on the specified width). This will make the layout fluid.

First I thought it might be due to CSS but after I checked, I don't see any difference in size in both of them.

if using firefox, or whatever browse - check your view -> zoom -> reset (or equivalent) for both pages. you may have accidentally done something like ctrl + or ctrl - on one of them.

obviously - respective options in other browsers but you should see the sites equal there.

If your screen resolution is 1024x768 like mine, you won't. :)
