Strange URL for Google

    I am not sure if this forum is the correct place to post this -- but here goes.

    http://urlwww--google--com.rtrk.com/

    Also try putting in your own URL in the above.
    It doesnt work for some site though like espn.com and hostmysite.com
    Is this a Phishing site?

    I have gotten several mixed answers on this. Does any one know for sure?

    I believe that is their tracking method.

    RTRK.com is a Marketing/Advertising site that you can market your site on. I believe they let you go through links like

    seatheworldcruises.rtrk.com
    and
    http://urlwww--firetabs--com.rtrk.com/

    So that they can track how many visits go to those websites.

    FireTabs.com has no affiliation with rtrk, but they are still in the system, so it is likely just an .htaccess forward through to grab traffic stats. No confirmation, but once you click anything on Google, it goes to the normal Google URL, so its very unlikely they will be able to steal anything besides your visitor info.
