Strange traffic shows on my awstat

    The last 4 months my traffic stats shows I'm getting 50-300 a month from cctv.com , but I can't my link there, or how its coming from there. Any idea?

    Well If you are getting good backlinks from other sites then i think its not a big deal. The matter is the backlinks you are gaining should be of quality not quantity.

    Way back in the late '90s there was a practice of spoofing referral stats so that the site owner would notice a frequent referrer and return to their site. Some sites even published their referral stats on their pages as a thank you to those sites for sending traffic. I think the owner of that site is probably some guy stuck in the '90s who thinks that kind of thing still works.

    Don't sweat it! Ignore and move on. They aren't hurting your site or using so much bandwidth that your fees go up. There are ways to ban them but I wouldn't spend anymore time on them than you have to.

    You are getting referral traffic. Have you purchase the traffic five months ago. It might be also possible uptime company use that as spider.
