I am noticing some strange things happening in google.

    site:www.squarebrothers.com
    site:www.seobook.com
    site:www.rustybrick.com

the above sites have google cache for homepage alone and the remaining pages are showing as supplemental pages.

    waiting for opinions

Yep - I just posted a similar story to threadwatch about UK forums getting toasted - not only is the same thing happening, but Google is filled with nonsense URLs that don't exist.

really strange - if it can happen with big sites, small sites can only hope that this problem gets sorted fast:mad:

Probably depends on the DC. I'm seeing them as supp results (except for the index) here in Chicago.

The results are really weird - Google doesn't have any recent content from Platinax, just old stuff, or nonsense URLs.

Doesn't make sense, and my traffic is way down of late. Still, at least I'm thankful it's not a bread and butter site, but it would be great to see the issue resolved soon. :(

    for
    site:www.squarebrothers.com
    i get several pages:

    Results 1 - 60 of about 65 from www.squarebrothers.com

as a host too you may want to make clean pages
    Result: Failed validation, 524 errors
some days you may simply have a few hundred errors too many or ONE particular error too much for googlebot and googelbot may fail to crawl the page - hence all linked pages may drop out

how many hundred errors are allowed to be fully indexed by Google ?
    difficult to say ...
i go for 0 to be safe
as a rule of thumb i would safely assume the number of bugs you have in your pages might be near proportional the number of bugs you might have ON your severs and security configurations ...

or am i totally wrong in such a safe assumption ?

after the one domain's validation result found I saw no reason to check for the other domains listed

Thanks. That is interesting. This forum does not have supplemental results, nor does one of my sites.

Another site only shows 36 indexed pages (some that have been deleted for over a year) and shows ton of supplemental results. Very odd indeed.

Google is too arrogant to believe that they need Quality Control.

After all, if you're perfect and never make mistakes, why would you need QC? :)

Unfortunately, if you're perfect and never make mistakes, you can also never improve.

Google's comeuppance is coming, and I see this screwup as another step towards that inevitability.

Same here, not that I get many. I normally get 10-20 visitors a day but the last 2/3 days have been like 2/3 visitors even thouh I still occupy the sme position in the SERPS for the keywords that I was getting a few referrals for.

I was looking at this data center more:

    Check out these urls:

    www.tvproducts4less.com/esabt-6.html?source=findwhat
    www.tvproducts4less.com/hbdank-6.html?source=kanoodle
    www.tvproducts4less.com/hwew-12.html?source=overture

The ?source=overture has to be more than 3 years old. I haven't use ?'s in PPC campaigns F_O_R_E_V_E_R. The find what and kanoodle links are good too. I haven't used either since 2003 maybe? Why are those even showing up in a site check? Did google spider PPC ads at one point?

Google really screwed the pooch on this data center; that's for sure.

I agree. I don't get why this is here. Its clearly a google issue. I think it needs more attention too. It will not get it here.

I have seen TOTAL shite site: results from Google for a short while. I have seen pages that are alleged partially indexed with full cahes. I have seen pages showing caches that according to G are not even returned ona site: search. I have seen totally unworkable stuff from them.... Or is this yet another deliberate move LOL
