    Hi there,

My 3 months old unique website's 80% pages are in the Google's supplemental index. I worked hard to get one way links for those inner pages of my website.

After few days, the pages on which I am working pulled out from the supplemental index. But the total number of the pages in the main index remains the same. i.e 20. (now it should be 30 or so).

I noticed some new pages are in the main index and they are pulled out from the supplemtnal index and some pages that were in the main index pushed in the supplemental index. In this way the number of the pages in the main index remains the same i.e. 20.

I don't know what's going on and how can I get rid of this problem.

I will be really thankful to the experts for their guidance and help in this matter.

    Best Regards

Build more links 'coz Google now is after the more quality links.. That's what the updates now.... Through my experience.... so build links to related sites... My supplemental decreases when I do link building... But when I stop my supplemental increases...:D

Can you look at your backlinks. Google is reviewing backlinks and devaluing ones that it deems substandard. There is a new definition of substandard now.Its no longer link farms etc but sites that are blatantly selling links so webamsters could buy to increase PR are also being scrutinized.

You can fall into supplementary if you have duplicate content on your site. Run copyscape and see who is copying your content. You can also look through your own pages to see if you have any similar text.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the replies.

    My site has the following.

    1. Unique material
    2. Unique title
    3. Unique description
    4. sitemap.html, xml sitemap
    5. More Backslinks to home page and few back links to the inner pages.
    6. HTML site and no strings.

Problem: Some pages comes out from the supplemental and some goes to the supplemental but there is constant number i.e. 20, which has promised to Google not to change. Only 20 pages remains in the main index.

New pages remain for few days in the main index then again go to the supplemental (which is their final destination).

Any permanent solution for this problem will be highy appreciated.
