Hi I have a new directory Ask Directory the domain is 48 days old, so probably sandboxed and
i am already on middle of 4 page on google for the search term
    “Niche Paid Directories”
Strangely I am not targeting this word on the link building anchor text, I am targeting “Ask Directory”, “paid directory”.
    Cheers

That happens a lot, i can´t tell you why. You should check your backlinks with a backlink tool, and also your meta, this is the first that comes to my mind.
Hope this can help you in something.

Also: where did you find those nice photos?

LOL, I have two sites ranked 32nd and 38th for that search term, never noticed that. I guess it's a totally not competitive term.

It's a keyword term that has a zero overture (no one searches for it) so it would not be subject to the sandbox. Highly competitive keywords are what the sandbox affects.
