Hi, A couple weeks ago, my average QS for one of my adgroups (containing 17 keywords) was about a 6-7. Today the average QS has gone down. I now have QS's that are 2-3 for some keywords that previously were higher 1-2 weeks ago. The thing is, I didn't make any changes to my words or ads at all during that time. Now, I'm aware of the fact that your QS can change periodically several times a day/week based on certain factors. However, I'm using keywords that don't have much competition. For the last month, there were only 2-3 people advertising for my words. If I look at the 'relevancy' for each low QS keyword (2-3 score), it obviously says 'Poor'. This seems very misleading. They're basically saying that my RELEVANCY has gone down, therefore the QS has gone down. I don't understand that since: 1) I haven't made any changes and 2) I don't have much competition. Can someone explain? sm.
A QS drop to 2/3 I'd say is a slap or an extremely poor CTR, although a slap is more likely. What does it say for landing page when you look in on the Quality Score?
I know the landing pages have to be relevant. But I haven't changed those either in the last month while Google was changing the QS down-up-down.
I suppose it's possible for a human reviewer to feel your keyword relevancy was poor. Email Google and ask for a second opinion. Maybe it's just a mistake. I've had that happen to me once.
I'd say that it's not a slap as usually you go down to 1/10. It may be that during that time your CTR has decreased, OR your competitors have been implementing changes which have seen their own CTR increased - which would mean comparatively you have lower CTR and therefore lower QS
Slaps also take you to 2/10 and 3/10. A poor CTR is generally 4/10 at worst, that's from my experience.
