Hey Folks, I just gotta ask this as its baffled me for a long long time now. I've been running an eco friendly blog for about 3 or 4 years now. During the second year, it seemed as though the website had been struck with a penalty. The blog ranked highly for a large number of keywords as well as phrases for a couple of years, then suddenly the rankings dropped consistently to page 5 and 6 in search results. A bit of background on that: I had a server crash, and the website was down for about 3 days until I managed to get everything moved onto a different server and back online. All of this was happening during a PR update. Once the site was back online, the site seemed to have a minus 50 or 60 penalty applied to it. Even searching the sites name brought the site up on page 5. At the time the website had a page rank of 4. It immediately lost pagerank to N/A at that time. Now, 2 years later, the website has regained its pagerank to PR 3, and some keywords and phrases are ranking again, but nothing like it used to. Does anyone have any input about this at all?? Experiences?? This is not a crappy autoblog. All original content on the website. I'll happily PM you the URL if you'd like to have a look at the site to see if you can find anything that I may be overlooking. It really baffles me.
That is so weird. I’ve never heard of that before. Did the competition go up, and the crash is just a false correlation? Maybe some of the back links didn’t redirect correctly? I’ve heard of it taking a few weeks to get back to normal (a past client of mine) but I’ve never heard of this happening for that long. If you want to PM I’d like to figure this out, it is a strange situation.
Well I am sad for you what happened to you is bad. I am not professional but I am sure DP members will help you in short time. I add something that this happen to me also but I am new and I don't know what to do I have same story like you and I will also follow your topic for more information. I wish that you get back where you are soon.
