Strange Penalty in Google (Sept 22nd)

Three of my sites took a big hit on Sept 22nd (or late the 21st). They all had top 10 rankings in Google for dozens of terms. When I checked revenue on the 22nd, it was down big compared to normal.

I've had sites get penalized before, it's part of the business. But this penalty was different: All the pages' major referring terms had dropped to exactly #31 in the SERPs. The sites are all on separate IPs. They are loosely interlinked, nothing crazy, only a few natural 3-way type links.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Someone else on V7N noticed some sort of datapush on sept 22nd, but I haven't seen any other mentions. I'm wondering if it's some sort of manual penalty.

The sites aren't linking to any bad neighborhoods, I'm almost positive about that.

That is strange, but par for google lately.

Are the ip's all on the same server or c-block?

Are the domains all registered under the same name?

The serps for all my domains dropped back in June (but not to the same serp like yours), different ip's, but same server. Breaking them up and putting them on different servers after the fall hasn't helped.

Yes - 1 have at least 30 keyword phrases relegated to #31

    No idea why.

I read on multiple occasions that google does not penalize specific sites, but rather create some algorithm change that affects all the sites across the board in their index. Your sites might have something in common that got tagged recently and thus the drop. You might want to evaluate your sites against other sites/sources you have and try to guess that caused you being affected by the new filter.

It may be a temporarily filter.
    Wait some days ...

Yep, they have some strange glitches in the last few month, you'll probably get your ranking back in the next few days.

Same here I lost 25% of the traffic for three for my bigest sites since 22th this month, I hope it is a glitch
