sounds funny but this happens for at least 3 months. my sites appears in top rankings in google for 2 weeks, then when it sunday the rankings dissappear and a week later it appears again! then after one or 2 weeks it goes down again! has any other noticed something like this???
Same thing here goes up to number 1 - 5 then plumments Sunday evening or so till middle of the week then it climbs back up
it would be great if we could find a solution to this, because i lose 30% of my monthly earnings, this way... the positive view is that i don't lose the 70% of my earnings!
this has happened to me on a number of occasions on different sites......check to see if the other sites also move up and down, If they are not moving, then you need to strengthen your site with more links and you will see it move less and less....
i would do this if i wasn't afraid of google flagging my site.. it has 15000 backlinks this moment and i think it is risky to buy much more links! if you wish to say, did you bought sitewides relevant links? or blog post? or directory submission? plz give us your lights
for what i know, google updates sites on sundays, as this has happened to me many times, late saturday and sundays ranking droppes, i guess this is the time where they actually press the red button for theupdates to take affect in my opinion, this means your site is being dropped slowly, so get a few quality backlinks and it should come back up as seo_ranter mentioned.
to be honest the site is steady when is up (in the same rankings)! but i would like to reduce the time my site is down!
This happened to me on two sites. The nature of these sites were such that they received a lot of backlinks from usually lower quality off topic pages/sites (they were sites that offered puzzles to embed in your site which then linked back to my site). I was able to pick up one very strong link that is very well trusted and within two days the fluctuation which had been occurring for 12-18 months stopped and hasn't returned.
I've had this with one of my sites for the past two sundays. The site in question has been hit fairly hard with links recently so i'd imagine its something to do with that.
wow .. interesting ... never noticed something like this earlier ... please provide more details about this issue ... like website url and the keyword you are facing such problem !!
Some of my client's sites behave this way but I have not noticed a specific day that their rankings drop My theory is that depending on the competitiveness of some niches google changes the positions of the TOP RANKING SITES in order to keep everyone happy Read a more thorough explanation on my blog if you want http://geoland.org/2008/02/content-is-king-after-all/
heheh i m from chios also! that was a thought. But i don't believe that google would act in this way!
