Strange links in Google Webmater Tools?

    Hi,

So today I login to webmaster tools to check my links and and on one of my inner pages that normaly has about 40 external links, now has 207!!

I was excited to see it but then when I started clicking on all these URL's they all routed to my competitors site.

And they are weird url's like:
    (Examples)

and so on and so on.

What does this mean, all the domains have expired in the last 4 to 5 days. Is this something my competitor is doing to steal my rankings?

    I mean WTF??

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

Im not sure what you mean grg but here is the who is from one that just popped up

    Record created on: 2008-03-05 08:13:59.0
Database last updated on: 2009-01-15 14:51:03.817
    Domain Expires on: 2009-03-05 08:14:43.0

I guess my question is, what is the reason for throwing all these links at my page then suddenly redirecting them?

Whats the benefit of doin that?

I'm not sure I can explain it any better

A page on my site had about 40 links pointing to it from good sites.

All the sudden the today I looked at my back links to the page and it had over 200 links pointing to it.
These new pages are all strange URLs like

dsfhsdh3423.com/keyword1_here <-- the example here would be my products keywords
kfirnjj585.com/keyword2_here <-- they used a different keyword for each url

    a couple hundred like that.

Now when I go to one of these url's to look at the page
it immediatly redirects me to a competitor site..

    The question?
Google obviously found these pages pointing to my site.
But when visiting these strange pages they go elsewhere.

Why throw hundreds of links at my page then change those pages to redirects after google has found the links.

Is this something the competitor is doing to try and hurt my ranking for these specific keywords?

Ill stay on this and watch these keywords to see if the competitors page jumps up above mine in the rankings
Or if my rankings suddenly fall.. Ill update here.

Are you sure you didn't in anyway made references to them or something. Check thoroughly well or better still resubmit your site to google again so that when they crawl your site those links will go off. Goodluck.

Looks really strange thing. See I am just stating probability it can not be all truth. Its possible that your competitor is trying to harm you. If possible pm me ur website url and backlinks.

Try to check source code of backlink page. Did they put your links there?

Your problem looks serious to me. In this Search engine world one can do harmful / spammy link building for competitor and can harm other website. And Mr. Google have no solution for this. (I wish Matt Read this)

Sounds like a weird blackhat trick to me. If you've got some balls, ask your competitors about it!

Might even be a company they hired and not realized it was like that
