I've been doing a bit of research and chatting with a couple friends about this. I 'd like to hear what you guys and girls think... and if this has ever happened to you. heres the deal: You add a few pages of content thats all closely related. lets say the page's keywords are related to "learn HTML" (just an example) and you notice that google has indexed these pages after a few days and you begin receiving traffic from the phrase "learn html".... but 5 or 6 days later it completely stops and come to find out, you're no longer ranked anywhere for those keywords. 1-2 weeks later google, for some reason, ranks your website back up there where it was to begin with. Has this happened to anyone? Is this normal? I've had this happen multiple times with different keywords or phrases and im curious whats going on lol. any help is much appreciated. keep in mind "learn HTML" was an example, they're not the keywords i've seen this happen to. This is a general question about google and if this has happened to you before.
A search here on DP will give you tons of answers to this question, it is also called Google Dancing and is pretty normal for new sites/pages.
well i wasnt sure if it was just something google does or what was going on. i mentioned this to a buddy and he said the same thing happened to him as well. but thanks to fionix i found a lot of useful information using the words he gave cheers
I agree with the others: the dance is different nowadays than the old days. Some quality, high PR links might help stabilize your site. Bompa
You wont get a really stable rank in Google lately, due to what they are doing "caffeine" I suggest you just keep doing the right thing in terms of SEO and you will be alright once Google made up their minds
Rankings are up and down. Just don't be confident if you got on the top. Just continue building quality links.
