Hey all DPrs, I've noticed smth very strange for one of my sites. While checking for the recent cache of the home page from the toolbar, there is no such! If I check for all indexed pages (in Google) the home page is present as indexed and from there I can see the recent cache few days back. Also If I check for cache of index.htm (which is redirected to the domain name) it is also cached, but not the domain itself?! Anybody any ideas how could this be possible? The home page appears in Google's search results as usual for both text and image searches...but there is no cache for the domain name Also I've noticed that all results from the "related:" function are gone, which is very strange as this site is over 3 years old, and always showed truly related links - about the particular country it is about. All this concerns only the domain and only in Google. All inner pages show related links as well as their recent cache. Thanks in advance for any helpful ideas. Please do not ask me for the URL I'll not reveal it, but I think I've explained the situation well enough. p.s. all this happened during the last weekend when I was away. p.s.s. the redirections in the .httaccess file are ok!
Happened to one of my inner page too, I focused on updating it for about a month but the cache date haven't changed. When Google PR update comes, it eventually gains PR and shows the latest cache date.
Well yesterday I've put some news on the home page and today they come as first result in Google. However, it is even more strange as cache:domain.com still shows no cache. But in the indexed pages of entire site, where I can see the cache it is displayed with date 28 Aug, and the new content is there although I've published it on 31 Aug lol Have no idea what's going on...
don't worry about the cache, it's impossible to understand how this works - focus on continue to creating content and links
why don't you just forget about the cache? Like others said, focus on building contents and backlinks.
I do focus on content and links, but still it something I've never saw before... And if there is no cache at all how does my page still ranks in google??? It means it is not in their index (only when checking with the direct cache: function), so it appears it is in the index and it is not at the same time omg, very strange. Also why my related: links are gone? Btw, caffeine beta index shows the usual related: links, but the normal google's indexdoes not!?!?!
