Strange Indexing Problem

    Hi,

I recently converted my Amazon Niche Store into a blog. The store had over 3,000 pages indexed, and a lot of them were ranking for some keywords. Obviously when they went to the page, it didn't exist.

I wanted to speed up the process so I told Google to de-index my whole site. They did this within a day or so. Then, I cancelled the request so that they would index me again (I wasn't sure if this would make them crawl the site again or just add the pages from last time).

Now, Google Webmaster Tools says it has indexed 10 of my new blog pages. When I do a site: command, nothing is indexed, even after about 5 - 6 days now.

And yes, I have plenty of backlinks.

Any ideas on what I could do now?

It will take some time to show your indexed pages in search.

I don't want them to appear in the search results yet, just being indexed would be nice to start with.

Yep that's what I've been doing, lots of fresh content. Still not indexed.

Aha, thanks. That's the sort of response I was looking for. Is it a guess or have you done the same thing?

Yep, I have a sitemap made and submitted.

Even I am looking for an answer to a question that why does webmaster tools show too many pages indexed while Site command shows much lesser indexed pages.

Google doesn't show all backlinks with the site operator as a matter of policy.

5 to 6 day's is too early, you need to wait atleast for a minimum of more than a week time to reflect in serp. On the mean time keep your url with your signature in DP and you have better chance to fast indexing.

If you ask google to de-index your site once, it can take a little longer sometimes to get it indexed again.
Get some more backlinks and you will be indexed soon.

I have experienced that with the Link Operator Google shows lesser Links but i dont think the same should be applicable for Site operator as well.

IMO, its just a temporary issue as it shouldn't take that longer to get indexed.
Have you tried getting backlinks from a good PR page?
