Strange Google behavior

6 months ago I divided my website into few subdomains but my results in the SERPs dramatically dropped.

Can anyone tell me what is the reason?

The old site was just www.mysite.com and had about 20.000 pages.

I then splitted it making a subdomain for each city:

    milan.mysite.com
    rome.mysite.com
    ecc

99% of pages where properly 301 redirected.

Why does google penalized me? Sandbox? mmm, all the pages of each subdomain are present in the google index and 6 month have passed after this change

I hope I've been as clear as possible.

    Please help me.

have your rankings for keywords you are targetting for www.mysite.com dropped ?

had a look at your first site, link:milan.mysite.com on google didn't return anything which maybe why that site doesn't rank for anything.

I expanded my website (getusb.info) into subdomains for different languages like Spanish, Netherlands and Chinese and I found G treats each subdomain as a different site. So SERPS don't just get redirected into new sub, but rather it's treated like new site altogether. It took me 3 months for those subs to get indexed. Good luck.

I noticed that google crawls about 5.000 pages of the old site. Each of these pages have a 301 redirect to the new url.

What if I avoid G crawling these pages by WMT(remove url)/robots.txt/server?

Is it good or I shoult wait?
