Strange Google Activity

    Over the last month, google has been spending upwards of 21hrs on my site (max 23hrs) daily, loading 600-1000 pages/day. They also seem to be unique pages - i.e. it's not stuck in a loop. I only have around 1000-2000pages on my site.

    The sites around 5 yrs old. It was PR3 for a long time, but has been PR4 for around 6 months. It does 'ok' in organic listings. Any idea what's going on?

    This is just out of curiosity btw - the servers cope easily.

    Yes, hits by googlebot. I was just curious at to why they spend so long my my site - yahoo and msn don't do this. Is it unusual?
