Strange "float: left" problem

    Hi,

I have a really basic test site to demonstrate a problem I think is to do with my css. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Please navigate to the site to see the problem (I tried inserting a link but it didn't work).

    http://www.asbi80.dsl.pipex.com/test.html

As you can see, the text in my "content" area is shifting to the left once it clears the sidebar.

Any assistance would be most welcome. I am learning css so forgive me if this is a very obvious problem.

Just to add to the above, I think now that in actual fact the top lines are probably being shifted to the right and the lines clearing the sidebar are actually the OK ones. Hope this helps.

Another clue, if anyone is interested. I have since viewed the test page above in Mozilla Firefox and the problem went away in that browser. It is clearly some sort of Internet Explorer rendering bug. Does anyone know of a work-around?

Thanks for that info. I managed to fix my test page and will apply the fix to the other page I am working on.

    Many thanks once again.
