    Hi

I just loaded the windows 2008 server 14days trial

Computer Dual Core 2 GHz With 4 GB of RAm

    HDD : Sata II 160x2

& when i transfer files from one HDD to other It show the transfer rate of maximum 3 mbps .

So if it internal Transfer cant go to 10 mbps etc how can we accpet a sever with 10 mbps unmetered is taking full advantage ?

    Thanks

I think you're confusing mbps with MBps. I doubt if you have correct and latest chipset drivers loaded. Some performance tuning might also be needed for a clean windows system. I suggest benchmarking the HDDs with some specialized apps and read the average thoroughput value.

BTW, integrated SATA controllers can't push much...better get addon PCI-e sata raid controller card with latest drivers. ;)

Also, not all content delivered over the network port originates as a result of disk activity. A lot of data is cached in RAM and the outcome of processing is right from the CPU flowing through the bus and terminating at your network subsystem.
