    Hi
There has been a ridiculous swing in the SERP in google for one of my sites. The site had been ranking well previously, but for the past few weeks a strange thing has been happening. The site has been disappearing every now and then and again reappears in the first page. The most ridiculous incident occured today, I typed in the enitre url in the Google search bar and was astonished to find that there was no information availabe, implying the site has not been indexed. The most interesting fact is that the site has a PR of 3, which is being displayed. I shall be highly obliged if someone can give me a reason for this behavior. Has anyone experienced such a strange behavior.
    Please help me out!

I have noticed this as well. I have been testing forum footer links to one of my sites in my signature on the same IP, while others are on different IP's. The web design wales site has been bouncing from position 8-15 where it normally resides all the way to 9999 gone, and around 150 or so. It looks to have settled at above 100 now. I don't care about the site as we don't do web design, and a ood ranking site is always better to use as a test as it is a few years old.

I would first check it on all datacenters in case it is just one of those things (There is some sort of update going on as AdSense and AdWords reporting was down for a long time yesterday as well as some other things)

If all datacenters show your page gone, it is probably as SEBasic says. Think if there is anything you have done that could merit a ban.

Although he is talking about a complete deindexing of his site which is a little less normal.

Without the URL we can't do much. That would make it a websire review for which you need more posts as per the FAQ.

I have already checked the PR in many a tools. it is 3. I have checked through the datacenters even, there is no information about the site in the datacenters even. The surprising factor is that the site was there in the first page only a few days back, to be more specific it was in the 3rd position last wednesday for a targeted keyword. And now it is no where! How is it so!

No nothing naughty!! Neither the site has any adult content nor it has been stuffed with keywords. I have taken all measures to ensure that it is not spamdexed. But the site has been disappearing and reappearing again and again.

    *cough*...

Let's not start on that one eh...

It's online, I've just decided to hold off linking to it for a little while...

It needs more sales copy and such...

There is even a forum there with members, but like I say - I want it to be *just right*.

As a side note, the signature changed yesterday :D
