I am puzzled by a problem that I am seeing. QdSense does appear to be working BUT for some reason it shows ads that are not relevant to my page. I have tried several things even adding <!-- google_ad_section_start --> and the other code <!-- google_ad_section_end -->. I placed my keywords between them both but it still does not seem to work. This has been going on for about 7 days now. Very frustrating. Other pages appear to be okay it seems to be focused on the home page. www.shearerhouse.net is the web site. If anyone knows a work around I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! Buddy
It looks like you're using Lynchburg way too much in your site copy. Try using more "web-designy" type words.
Thanks for your comment! I was thinking that too but Lynchburg is part of my keywords for this site. I thought <!-- google_ad_section_start --> and <!-- google_ad_section_end --> cause AdSense to focus to just whatever was between these tags. Is that not the case? Thanks! Buddy
I think FreewayWebhost is correct: You're emphasizing "Lynchburg Va" over the "web design" aspect of the page, both in general and in proximity to where the AdSense ads are displayed. Basically, AdSense is working - just not the way you want it to. 1. Move the ads away from the title to another portion of the page, e.g., down the left column; or 2. Rewrite the copy to put more emphasis on web design and development and less on the location. I realize you want to emphasize the location for your search rankings but you can do that in a different way - load Lynchburg Va and Lynchburg Virginia into the page title(s) and lower down the page in the copy - that will work and allow AdSense to function the way you want.
This is TOO weird now. Just playing around I removed "lynchburg" out of the content and any references within the HTML code itself. Period. It is gone. Using the url http://www.shearerhouse.net I still get Lynchburg in the AdSense code no matter where I put it. Here comes the wierd part. If I use http://shearerhouse.net I end up with all of these people in the AdSense ad. My question is this. Is there not a way to define via a Keyword what AdSense will use? Per the Google Help pages I thought <!-- google_ad_section_start --> was suppose to control this? This appears to be tied directly to the domain name for some crazy reason as if it were stuck. Thanks for any guidance with this! Buddy
When you make changes to a page, how long it will take to see changes in the AdSense ads depends on how frequently Google AdSense spiders the page. You may need to wait a day or two between changes. Check your server logs to see if the AdSense bot has even been to the page since you made the changes.
