Strane google ad

    Can someone take a look at this blog post ( at the bottom ) and tell me what am i lookng at? I haven't seen this kind of ads before...

    It's just an ordinary ad that has been placed on a custom background. It's against the TOS to do this but of course the people who sell (or use) these backgrounds won't tell you that.

    I'm not talking about the background which is by the was Ok with google.I'm talking about the ad inside the post...just aboce the "Original post by..."

    Oh that - never even noticed that. Haven't a clue. I must say, I don't believe placing you ads on a fancy background that draws unnatural attention to them is okay with AdSense - if you asked them again you'd probably get a different opinion from a different person.

    I cannot tell you what this is exactly but I can confirm I have never seen such ads before !
    I have two guesses :
    - the adsense team is testing a new (and more interactive) format to boost CTR
    - it is not an adsense ad even though it reads "ads by google"

    I do not see any javascript so this can be an attempt from google to stop seeing its ads filtered by ad blocking systems.
    If coding experts could give additional coments that would be nice
