stpt.com worth paying $99 for a listing?

I just came across this directory at http://www.stpt.com/directory/ and some of the pages are pr6 but they charge $99 a year.
Do you think its worth spending that much money and does it even pass on PR?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A fee of $99 guarantees review of your site and if approved gets you listed for a calendar year.
    Will check the site out

Yeh thats what they say but there is no reason why they would reject the site I am going to submit so my question is that is it worth getting listed there for $99 or not.
By worth I mean would it really give my search engine rankings a big boost or is it just another bill to pay with nothing in return :(

Couple of my clients sites are listed, the PR of the pages they are listed on is 0, the links do get spidered but there are well better ways of spending $100 I.E Alive and Aviva if you arn't already listed.

There is never a guarantee that anyone can make, they have no control on how search engines rank. Thats silly.:p

My site is already listed on both alive and aviva.

Do you think listing on one of the pr6 subpages on this directory stpt.com will deliver the value of $99?

If you get a PR6 sub-page it is worth $99 just be carefull they don't create a new sub-category and burry you.

Well lets investigate a little by doing searches on sptd.com and ask yourself, how did they attained those high rankings on thier pages...

    They give out awards....http://www.mentalhealth.com/award/p05-stpt.html

They do look strong, PR 6's on alot of sub category and main domain looks like a PR 8.

    I do kinda like it.

It's usually depending on the PR on the very page. The deeper the page is, the lower the PR, in many cases, and also less traffic.

I'm sure you aren't expecting much of traffic do you? So then it's a matter of PR. If the site is considered authoritative by G, then it could help your ranking at G SERPs.

No I am not expecting any traffic atall, I am just after the little push in search engine rankings and if they would pass on a little PR :)

The problem is even after they list me I would never find out what effect this listing made (if they list me, which they should as there is nothing wrong with my site) as I have spent shit loads of money on payperpost recently :(

You can send them an email and ask for a review before paying any fees. They were fast answering my email and gave a quick response before submitting my website.

Ok I did some research and I found that the sites listed in there have stpt.com in G's link:site command so I guess it must be passing PR and secondly yahoo values the links from stpt.com and its got more value as far as yahoo goes then wiki's pr6 pages :)

Depends on the category you want to submit your site.If it's PR6 then 99$ for permanent PR6 link is good deal imo :)

Even though I acknowledge that PR doesn't always mean or promise if a website is recognized as authoritative by G, but then I don't think I know a PR8 site that is NOT considered and recognized by SEs or webmasters.

Besides, it is a directory, so it covers various niches, and G knows it. There is no irrelevancy penalty here. I think you will see a positive result. ;) (and please let us know if you got any good result, too)
