As you know you can not store Amazon's content on your site. They allow you to refresh links, but can always cut you off and your stuck with no products in your cart. Is there a site with an API where you can search for products and store pics on your site, Google or Bing? I want to be an Amazon affiliate, but don't want to build up a store full of products, get regulars, then have Amazon decide my site isn't good enough anymore, know what I mean...any suggestions?

    Thanks for the help.

I am currently launching a script that does exactly this - the product information is cached in your database. You can edit the product information, overriding the Amazon default and it stores locally. So if Amazon ever cuts you off then you still have everything.

The script is currently in beta testing - you can apply to get the script, see my sig for details.

Be careful about to store amazon contents, Amazon allow for 24 Hrs to cache informations because price , picture and/or reviews are frequency change. You may don't want to edit original contents from amazon but you can write script to pick-up your custom contents from your database by using ASIN and take the original contents off. This method you will get update and don't worry about info change.

    (here about script)
About Cart system I think amazon API has full functions of remote-shopping-cart that not reset your custommer select products to zero. You may only store cartId into cookie and when your customer comeback they will see all of product they selected in cart.

Yes that is true - also they allow less time for you to update the price. The script I am launching does update the prices, pictures, information etc. before 24 hours (less for the price) and also allows you to override this information with your own unique content. It also uses the remote shopping cart which is a nice feature (it means that the customers can checkout on your site withing an iFrame).

That's a nice idea. What is the time frame for release? Also, how does your product compare to BANS? Any plans to include an Ebay component in the future? Is this a standalone like BANS or a Wordpress plugin?

    Cheers,
    David
