Stopping outomatic display of comments in wordpress

How can I stop new comments on my blog from appearing before they are moderated and approved by an admin of the blog?

 

Go to the Admin -> Settings -> Discusssion panel and check the box where it says "An administrator must always approve the comment".

 

I can't imagine that a person teaching others to make money online is asking this question

Well, make sure that you go through all the posts and set a spam filter for the keywords that are mostly spamming your blog. It will save your time next time when someone posts spam.

And I hope you already installed Akismet, and GASP plugin (Growmap plugin).

These two plugins are great to kill spam comments.

 

Thanks for the information about this. But I have always used that but it won't work with a new theme that I just installed.

 

My peoblem is not spam, but withholding comments until I can read them. I always use the "Discussuon" from the dashboard to do it but it doesn't work with a new theme I have installed.

 

That's weird! What theme are you using? Check the theme settings, there may be some option overriding it.
