I think blog commenting it's not a waste of time, if you want to get some traffic from high quality blogs.

I think it depends on what you are aiming for. If you are aiming to build your page rank then there is little value. However for boosting SERPS placement or generating traffic then Do Follow posting is useful in my experience.

The number of people offering blog commenting services has trippled and i personally think it's a waste of time too. Relevancy matters but the good blogs in your niche get several hundreds of comments and yours would be buried deep inside those. Any value here? Could be but it would be really little. Now how many of these would you require to affect your SERPs?

It will not much help to increase the PR but if you want Good SERP then I will prefer blog commenting.

It is the game of PR. No one will deny it. Everybody does it. Its not waste of time unless your sole motive is to spam. Blogging is good way to create audience and create good discussion like in forums.

I dont agree with this, I belive that it has less value...but it will give you surely link with your efforts. What are you getting with directory submission...? They have round about 30 to 40 % approved ratio, and it will take time in approving too. while in blog you will get the link on second day, and its easy to instead of doing directory submission. So my vote will goes too Blog Commenting.

I don't fully agree. First, generally the more links pointed at your site the higher PR it can achieve. The higher PR achieved the easier it will be to find your website in the search engine. And obviously in return you should see more traffic which can lead to more conversions which equals $$$.

With that said...even with the corniest, most annoying, and time consuming method if you are successfully placing backend links to your site it is working. However, most of you will spend 3 hours a day for 5 days doing so then give up when you don't see a difference in your conversions or traffic. You guys should just quit now because by building backend links you are setting yourself up for future traffic...not current traffic.

And correct me if I am wrong...but GBot doesn't attempt to determine which link on a web page was published by the Web Master and not the community. Let's get real.

Comments on Blogs, Forums, etc. DOES in fact build PageRank...down the road. You probably just tried it for an hour and when you didn't turn into a millionaire two weeks later an inner voice told you to whine about it on DP. Probably =).

Posting on do follow blogs for a new site can at least help with getting spiders to your site if nothing else. It won't hurt your site so it really can only help.

The best and cheapest way to get links is article writing and submission. These links cost much more becouse they are in content.

the easier the link is to get, the less the value it will have[/QUOTE]

This is the very good point, But in my experience people like to comment do follow blogs and owners of the blog moderates strictly, which makes the approved comments rich in content and has some value, so at the end it will help.

I don't think you're fully understanding what the OP (and subsequent users) are saying here. You don't seem to be considering/understanding the bleed (and increase in comments) that most sites get when they've gone DoFollow.

Well everyone has told me that DoFollow is one of the best ways to improve rankings. If DoFollow commenting isn't then what is? I am very curious!

I have seen many niche websites using blog commenting as part of a link building strategy and they have done just fine. Obviously, I can't say that they are ranking well because of their commenting or because of their other methods, so unless you only do 1 linkbuilding method, it's always hard to tell the results.
