    its needs very strong mind setup, use one cigeratee two time three time, may it useful for you to decrease the qty. and later on cause of quit.
    i did the same, i started last 6 month and its decreased from 15 to 4 daily.

    What I believe is you can't leave smoking habit at one go, instead try to minimize you habit by smoking lesser cigarette in day.
    So if you smoke 10 cigarette in a day, try 9 for the next couple of days, then 8,7 and so on..
    Believe in yourself, you can do it

    What really does help some people is vipassana. They put you into conditions where you don't smoke and make you meditate and watch your state. Some of my friends have quit smoking after 10 day course.

    Quitting smoking isn't easy nor is it that hard. It all depends on your willpower, determination and most importantly your psyche. Firstly, you've to accept that smoking is a bad habit which you've already did I assume. You've to get out of the environment where smokers are common just like disco clubs and other places in your area. You've to prepare yourself mentally.

    Man, we really should like outlaw cigarette productions everywhere. It's harmful to us, so why should we make something that could kill us off? I never smoked before in my entire life and I never will.

    It's not that easy man - if we "outlaw" something we don't eliminate its cause - we just outlaw the social and economic interactions.
    We have outlawed lots of "drugs" and prostitution -- now look where this crap ahs brought us - the officials that should be fighting it, are its kings and make huge money holding drug and prostitution black markets, and putting lots of people to jails just because of their needs.

    Education is much more effective, and even some kind of marketing I would say -- we need to force politicians and NGOs pump money into educational and advertising campaigns against smoking, especially among teens and gals.

    New Zealand has done it in the seventies -- they had like 70% women smoking at that time. The government and NGOs created a social ads campaign telling not that smoking had been bad for their health, but that smoking was ugly and not sexy. And it worked.

    Tobacco industry marketers send the image of smoking is cool and sexy -- that's the most effective advertising of theirs and it's most harmful for the society

    I smoked for about 7 years in the past. It was one of the worst habits to kick. What i did is i started replacing my cigarettes with hookah. I know it sounds crazy but when i was at home instead of going out to smoke i would just smoke hookah. I know its very bad for you but i didn't find it as addictive as cigs. Eventually i found myself not craving cigs when i was at home and the pattern continues. I have been smoke free for almost 1 years now :)
