Does anyone have any advice on how I can kick Smoking without nicotine aids? been smoking 10 a day for 4 years. I am a nurse at a hospital and am trying so much to stop with fails. The last ever one always tempts me. any hints and tips? How can i get through a stressful 12.5 hour shift without the temptation of going out for a fag break with others? I do not believe in using patches or the gum Thanks ...
I've been smoking a lot too. But I didn't take the advice of those who told me to quit over and over. Each time I resolved to quit, my mind would fight it tooth and nail, the resistance was so heavy I'd end up back with tobacco smoking with a vengeance. So, my trick was to go ahead and light up each time I craved for a cigarette and didn't fight the urge to do it. I went with the flow and thought I'd have to be gentle with myself and not just listen to those psychology experts. I'd have to be my own psychologist right? I'd smoke if I needed to as opposed to wanting to. Eventually, my mind softened up and didn't fight me anymore. I let go of the cigarettes and didn't touch it since. It's been almost thirty years now since my liberation..
Dearest one, please explaining to me your logicals? I was smoking at least a pack a day of 16mgs (for nearly 10 years), went on nicotine patches in 2001, gave up, end of story. Still love the smell of it, still encourage others to smoke around me. Not even tempted to have one though.
Every time you need a smoke punch yourself in the face, it won't be long till you decide giving up smoking is less painful trust me. Good luck bros!
Maybe try using e-cigs if they suit you. I heard they are better than real ones and cause less harm to body.
Some people tried not to struggle with the urge like Warloky for example, while some others needed to get rid of cigarettes of their life until the urge went by, or else, use the patch and get great result of it! So it may not always be the same pattern for everybody to quit smoking. You may find something or someone to keep you motivated on quitting smoking, try to find one best step for you and never give up on pursuing a healthier life, yeah?
I quit cold turkey two and a half years ago, the best advice I can give is to remove yourself from social situations where you'd normally smoke... i.e. if you normally go outside with colleagues on your breaks at work to smoke, take food to work and sit down with a book or something else to occupy you. I found the most tempting time to smoke was with a certain crowd of people I worked with at frequent awards nights etc where you also had a few drinks, after a couple drinks its almost impossible to say no to other people who feel better by convincing others to keep smoking so I steered clear for awhile until I felt strong enough to say no then made a conscious effort to occupy myself with alternative things good luck!
i know its hard to stop smoking. i use this trick. when i feel like i want to smoke. i stop breathing the air for like 1 min then repeat the process. its help me a lot
