Suggestion Stop giving infractions for "some" double posts

Lets be real here....nobody uses the search feature when they go to the "buy, sell, trade" forum. I mean a few might but its not many. In the couple of years I have been on this site I have received TONS of "duplicate post" infractions because I made more than one post advertising my services. I got 4 or 5 today but I am not here griping even though its retarded.

I think ONE duplicate post per week should be allowed. It allows sellers of services to get their service up top for view. Some people like me make a living doing stuff online.

I understand the reason to try and cut down on double posts but it doesn't work because to some, it is the only way they get attention.

Like for instance I write articles. If I only advertised ONE time I would NEVER get any work beyond what I got once it was advertised. Therefore I HAVE to make another post advertising my services at some point.

Oh Yes I do know about the "bump your thread" thing that was added not to long ago. It is only once a month and that is NOT good enough.

Honestly I think the best way is to simply charge 1 buck per listing. The clutter would vanish and only real services would be posted. This could work in areas like the content creation area where I post or the services section.

I just CANT get work steady unless I post multiple times. This is how I make my living and it is important I find work. Infractions are not helping me out and I dont want to lose money.

If your ability to make a living requires violating the rules of a third-party site, you may want to rethink your career. Paid bumps would be a more likely scenario than paid threads.

You could always put a link to the sales thread in your signature. Then it would be seen everywhere you post.

I just meant that in order to make money I need to advertise my services. Simply once a week would suffice. Yet there is no option on this site for that. I would happily pay a buck a bump as I easily make that for every post I make :)

You can bump once a week if you are a premium member.

If 1 dupe post is allowed, here is a math breakup for the amount of 'spam' the forum will generate

1 Dupe post per week (per user) = 52 dupe posts/threads in a year (per user)
Assuming we have 20,000 members we'd have 10,40,000 Dupe posts in a year, & it isn't a funtime to clear up those 10,40,000 posts...as the mods are already overloaded with busting up spammers.
And thats for 20k members, We have a LOT more than that.
Think about it for a moment.

How much does it cost to be a premium member? I cant find the info.

Yes, that would be a TON of spam. I do see the point. Once a week would be awesome :)

You mean one dupe thread per week should be OFFICIALLY ALLOWED and that'd be awesome?!?
WOW, I mean literally, Did you actually read my previous post?

If you make a living online the $25/month pricetag for Premium Membership shouldn't be too expensive- and it will provide you with the 1 bump per week you requested.
