Hi Folks, Quite often on this forum I read about people that are only earning cents from many impressions and wondering why. Sometimes people even think Adsense is poor paying when in fact the opposite is true once you understand what you need to be focusing on to achieve the right results. I know how frustrating it must be for you if you are one of them so I have written a post that I think you will find helpful, explaining the first 3 things you should look at if you're not earning as much as one might expect from sites monetized with Adsense: Make Money With Adsense ( 3 Things You Should Know ) Dean
@appleiphone - It's hard to make accurate assessments based on one click but if you had hundred clicks all earning hardly anything then the points in my post are definitely worth taking into account. One click at 5 cents can be totally normal and nothing to worry about. Hope that helps.
The problem is that if your site has already been built for 6 years on social traffic, and what is now a lower paying niche, you cannot just do a 360 and turn it into something it is not. So this may be good advice for those just starting out, but for us that have built a site for years it doesn't help much I think building a site for AdSense, and for what you hope is a high paying niche, results in a lot of failed websites. You build a site based on your interests and knowledge, and hope for the best. Just MHO.
@filipina - Most people starting out monetize their sites with Adsense and affiliate ads so this applies to a large % of people posting on the forum judging by the posts I have read over the past few months. If your site is built on social traffic then Adsense is usually not the best fit in terms on monetization. With regards to what you build your website around, it is entirely possible to build profitable sites that you are not necessarily either passionate about or have expertise in. When it comes to Adsense, what you are passionate about or have an interest in may not necessarily pay that well. Looking outside of this and other ways to monetize that traffic, obviously different rules apply. You don't need to earn that much from a site in order for it be considered a success in terms of ROI. Same old junk. I suppose there are people out there who don't understand any of this. But for the most part I think of Jimmy Kimmel "How is this news"? Same things that have been written a million times over.
@internetmarketingiq - Don't really appreciate your tone but you are entitled to your opinion. However, the fundamentals are key and yes, there are people out there that don't understand this which is why there are tons of "I only earnt $0.01 from 'x' number of clicks' in the forum.
