    old welsh guy,
"You have just suggested that someone resigns because they have sites listed in a category they edit. Is this logic or jealousy? "

I meant that, if you can't spend enough time reviewing websites, then resign.

Sarah is running a business and he/she is listing his/her clients.

I don't care about your red rep or green rep.

    Why are you getting angry?

My post is directed to Sarah, let her defend it.

I don't see, why you should get agitated.

    Peace, peace

When you apply to become an editor you MUSt tell of any affiliations. Most editors have some sort of commercial interest, as the sites within a diretory all more or less have a commercial value. Even a doctor could be seen to have a commercial interest if they carry out paid work. If all editors with a commercial interest resigned then there would be no editors and NO sites would get in.

Ok so someone plaeces some sites thay are affiliated to in the index? so what? If they add a few hundred sites, and a handfull are their own, and those sites are of the required standard and are not spam then there is nothing wrong, no rules have been broken.

I repaet my example of my rugby resource, should it be left out because it is belonging to an editor? (I am not an editor it is a simple question).

    Answer me this SIMPLE question.

If Sergey Brinn became editor of the search engines category at DMOZ, would it be only right that he resigns for not removing the best search engine in the world (Google), simply because he owns it?

So if your walking down the street, and some guy is beating up on someone, you would walk right by and let it bee because he was not beating up on you right?

When I see something I consider to be wrong, I speak out. If we didn't then there would still be Aparthied in South Africa and slavery in America

    Peace Peace :)

    Sarah,
Your website says it all, what you do and what you offer.
It is pretty much clear what you have done or what you would do in future.

    Just answer this question.

I don't care your badmouth nor OWG's bad mouth and language.

Please show me where I have bad mouthed you, or used bad language against you? Don't you see that you have made it personal against a person you now nothing about. You have delivered your posts in a very patronising tone, and it has rubbed people up the wrong way.

I am still waiting for you to answer the Sergey Brinn question though as it is interesting and much rests on it.

    Sarah,

I did not give any red rep to you or to OWG.

    My question was

    1) How many sites have you actually added to dreadedMOZ (DMOZ)
    2) When did you become DMOZ editor
    3) How much time did you spend editing websites?

Anyway, now i don't care about your answers.

YOur website http://sarahk.pcpropertymanager.com/ says it all.

    Bye and good luck.
    Ethics, ethics, ethics and ethics.

I do not know what you have done to deserve this rant. Everyone here at DP knows you are one of the most even tempered helpful members.

Well you're going to get them anyway, schmuck

Where on my homepage do I mention dmoz, directory submissions, link building?
    I don't offer those services.

I certainly mention dmoz and directory management in my blog but you're pushing it uphill with a very small stick to claim I collaborate with other editors or take payment for listings. Go try and find someone to make a real, substantiated accusation and make it to DMOZ, not to the DP members this is not the appropriate place for editor complaints.

    Sarah,
I did not say that you offer 'link building', 'dmoz directory' listing services.
I said and highlighted the fact that you offer other related services like SEO. This is evident on your website.

Your interest is Real Estate and you are affiliated with real estate sites and listed some of them.

My post and some of my previous threads have highlighted these problems.

Editors list their websites and vanish.
They just don't care, what is in the queue.

Your case has just proved what is believed all along.

    Sarah,

Do you think, i can log into dmoz system and find out the info?

Whatever i found is from googling.

When we sincerely ask questions on resource-zone or lately on DP,
DMOZ editors come and act like they are angels.

Whatever it is, you have yourself said in your ealier post that

"YOu have added other sites for balance"

    What does that mean?
Why don't you add my site for balance?
    Or just any other site?

Look at this site and see, how quickly this site got into DMOZ?

    http://www.waitakere-bmx.com/

    DMOZ Listed: http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/searc...takere-bmx.com

This is the category without any editor.

Online since : August 11, 2005. (brand new mambo website got listed in DMOZ in no time)
    Avergae traffic rank: 2,093,015

    Who submitted it?
    Who reviewed it?
When did the site go live?
    Who owns it?

Whatever it is, iam just frustrated because, some people get more than due privileges. And still the system is called ODP. The ultimate FREE WORLD.

Yes, just because she an editor does not make her a "corrupt editor".
But surely having some influence in DMOZ will help her with her SEO.
It does not appear she controls any big $$$ categories in DMOZ.
    I think you should apologize.

Anyways, Sarah, there have been so many preposterous examples of pornography and multiple listings of editor's sites (to name a couple of the problems) that many will just attack anyone that claims to be associated with this infamous organization.

Sara, how do you feel about ecommerce sites having multiple listings in the area of pornography on DMOZ?
Do you take pride in being part of an organization that promotes pornography?

It means that I don't wait for companies to submit, if their sites are relevant and I know about them then I submit them
It doesn't quite fit with real estate education for New Zealand, sorry
I've submitted well over 500 sites but have not necessarily had the rights to approve them[/quote]

As was pointed out to you here no category can be mine, and no category is without an editor

Technically I own it as I have paid for the hosting and the domain but it is the club's site and when I resign from the committee they will be free to make their own decisions over it's future.

Yeah, you got a green card, I'd never stand a chance. Welcome to the free world. Hope you like living with Bush!

don't be mischeivous - you know full well, from that other thread, how I feel about them. Lets not start that again.

It's a bit like saying poor old HodgedUp is a 6'6 sex fiend so I must be too just because I'm at DP. Sadly my bed is in great shape.

My question was, how come it got listed so fast?

I don't care, if you own it or you are affiliated with it.

How come this website which is 2 months old, got listed in DMOZ so fast?

And you editors post here and feel pity about websites waiting in queue for past several years.

    Wow. good job

Now you are changing the subject by bringing BUSH into the topic.

Anyways, as i said earlier and iam repeating again
"I stand by every word/sentence i spoke about your websites and affiliations."
