i'm a blogger too. 4 years before this, i started my online journey. as for a newbie, sharing critical information seems crucial to make a visitor come, saying thanks for valuable information, congratulate and leave but do they come again? 50-50. stop this mistake that i've done. DO NOT. no, NEVER post tips & tricks type of entry in your blog UNLESS it is really really worth reading. to make a brilliant post, we have to refer here and there and think critically plus to make it looks creative so the visitor will satisfy reading the post. but, people love to read entertainment and news type of entry rather than cheap blog entry of tips & tricks. if you're doing it NOW, i recommend you to switch to a niche that has a potential of returning customer. think by yourself. if you are so crazy to make a free tips & tricks post in your blog, do it seldom. do not always make it so your blog niche will "scatter". so long, i hope this will help.
"DO NOT. no, NEVER post tips & tricks type of entry in your blog UNLESS it is really really worth reading. " I totally disagree. A) "worth reading" is so very relative. B) I believe ANYTHING is "blog-able" if its compelling and provacative. (also relative terms) Honestly, people love lists, top 5's, top 10's..and I believe the ONLY trick to blogging is being able to engage people, and sometimes that means piss!ing them off. Most times its consistent writing, building relationships on related blogs. rinse. wash. repeat.
I like reading some tips about blogs cos i am a newbie. And I think many people like reading these tips.
soory to be rude. i started this thread because i just found a blogspot blog teaching a basic technic about how to blog bla bla bla. then i feel just like everyone is ON the same thing. let the guru explain it. if you're not "guru", write it with courage. do not just copy paste and keep telling and repeating the same thing others are writing. that's just lame. again, sorry to be rude. *pro and cons are acceptable.
Tips and tricks are always favorite within bloggers, random freelancer, readers. If you are thinking that the traffic should come just after posting your tips and tricks then that is the mistake. Whenever people will hit the search engine for those tricks, your posts should appear on the first two pages . that's it. I don't agree with your opinion about Tips and Tricks thing. Niche is always important but you should know what interest you and then only choose niche. There is a place for everything on Internet. Just go with some exclusive content in presentable way.
