I am not denying that Google is a very great company, extremely innovative and had the Midas touch. But it is still only a company though one of the best organized.

    Shhht..they are everywhere!

    Just joking :p

So what you're saying is that we shouldn't give out any information just to make sure that google doesn't ban us?
That sounds a bit exaggerated, no?
When i was acting against there TOS they emailed me and said me to change some things.
I don't think they will ban you unless you are doiing something way out of limit.

Google is OK. Adsense income is OK. Adwords are OK.

But with one very big proviso, and unfortunately 95% internet marketers fail to abide by this one very important point.

You need to have many strings to your bow, and not be solely reliant on Google for either your traffic, your income or your advertising.

If you are, they have you by the "short and curlies". You are at their mercy.

If your whole business model revolves around being in Googles, or for that matter, any other single entity's good books, then you are susceptible to being wiped out over night.

Google are no more or less important to your business than you let them be!

Diversify you sources of traffic, income and advertising, and you will have a business that is "google-proof". Otherwise you will be bound to jump through whatever hoops they choose to place in front of you in the future.

Yes I do get plenty of traffic from google and make decent money from adsense, but I took some good advice a couple of years ago and developed several other traffic and income sources, to the point where if Google disappeared tomorrow, I'd be a bit peeved, but the vast majority of my business would march on regardless, and I wouldn't have to downsize the house or the car!;).

There are only 2 sets of people who dont have to be worried about AdSense TOS and their bossiness. People who haven't joined AdSense yet and people who have banned from the program. We have to worry and follow what Google say because we agreed for that when we d joined. Its their game so we play according to their rules not ours.

Indeed, but they're a company that pays my bills and my number 1 billboard for long-term advertisements (through SEO and PPC SEM). So they're a god to me.

Not sure if best, but definitely easiest to use/implement. I made my account and started earning with AdSense in a few minutes, but it took be several days to figure out how CJ.com works for example :-z

    This should be the cycle:

Strict TOS --> Paranoid publishers --> Trying other programs --> Found a better program --> Everyone ditches Adsense --> Adsense's dead --> Google stock collapses --> brandnewx gets rich selling Google stock.

WidgetBucks or YPN was somewhat a close call. It's just a matter of time that a better program is born. I'm waiting enthusiastically for that day when Adsense Team beg publishers to come back like we beg them to reinstate our accounts.

Not excluding this possiblity, but AdSense is an international brand now...it's hard to fight off brands, user loyalty and used-to-ness. If all these "i got banned by google" and "google stole my monye!2!" threads and negative PR didn't bring AdSense down, I doubt a competitor will anytime soon.
