You're starting to tick me off, seriously. I'm sure there are Muslim people on here that are offended continually by those threads. I'm not Muslim, but it's getting ridiculous. In this OP I'm not going to state any of my opinions (or fact, depending on your perspective) - because that would be hypocritical and ironic of this thread. All I'm sayin' is - give it a break. A LONG one. We all know many of you have feelings against Muslims. Well shut up, please? Because we're all sick of hearing (the hypothetical hearing-via-the-Internet kind of hearing) it, and we already know your opinions on the subject. Anyway, good day... .chulium.
No. Rather, I'm making a polite but urgent request that they just... stop... it's annoying, and insulting to a lot of people here, I'm sure. I'm not offended, as I said, but I feel for those that are.
There's nothing wrong with looking for answers to important questions. It doesn't seem to be popular for our President to go to war against terrorists. Instead people would rather use diplomacy. Well, diplomacy requires understanding why they believe what they believe in order to show where their beliefs are incorrect. You can't tell someone you're wrong because I say so. You have to tell them their wrong because what they believe is contrary to the things they accept as fact. So I and others are looking to understand where these beliefs come from and why it's so difficult for Muslims to clearly show where the terrorists are erroring in their beliefs.
I agree with you Chulium. I would say it is accurate to portray radical Islam as being violent, but not all muslims. I know you are LDS which is Christian, so would I come yelling at you because of something Jerry Falwell said? or the Pope said? No, because that wouldn't make any sense. Either does bashing all the Muslims on this forum. Thanks.
OK, can we know get back to making fun of white Christians? How many Christians does it take to screw in a light bulb? D
But I think many people on this forum don't want to be "informed". They post these inflammatory threads and the fight is on, and they get a boner out of it. They already know they despise Islam and that view will never change, and some unsuspecting muslim gets on here and starts posting to try to prove they are not evil, and then the op just disregards everything they say and just wants to make them look stupid. It just seems kind of twisted.
I would like to have it on a few threads only. But if you look who the thread starters are you will find that the majority are muslims. 170000 Christian killed a year needs also to be addressed. The same number or even more of other none muslims must be looked into too. I'd be the first to stop when I see reasonable action and programs to avoid these useless slaughters of human beings. We need to see actions of muslims getting angry on terrorism as they get angry over a few cartoons, so far not seen anything close to that yet, except a few intelectuals which are also on the list of the radical muslims. Thier number is increasing and not decreasing. Those hundreds og thousands killed can't be insulted anymore, but to respect their respective families, oh yes they have families too, we need to continue to expose.
I understand what you are trying to say, but your example isn't correct. LDS is not Christian - they do call themselves that now, but it is like me calling myself a millionaire - I am not even close.
Let them. It reflects poorly on them more than it does on the Muslims. After all it is not that I am not capable of fending off those silly polemics that they raise. Best regards. - MENJ
It's hard to fend people off when you keep telling us that murdering apostates is okay. That's the huge point of contention right now. If you could aleviate our concern that killing apostates is justified by Islam then this would all go away. You need to show that according to Islam, killing apostates is wrong. Nobody really cares who the prophet married. But all freedom loving people would like to keep their heads in the event that they decide Islam is not for them.
This was already referenced to earlier (see Note 29), so I am not inclined to repeat myself again. And why the hell would I want to "show" that? It is certainly not "wrong". - MENJ
How many Muslims are offended by Menj claiming that according to Islam, killing apostates is not wrong?
I'm probably the only Muslim around here vocal enough to stand up to you people, so its pointless asking such questions in order to bash me with it. - MENJ
menj i agree with you that there are some people here that are just plain idiots. I have just distanced myself from responding to them because I would be bringing myself to their level. Bashing Islam is not going to get them anything. so let them do it all they want, as you said, it reflects on them.
I have real sympathy for the peaceful Muslims out there, but their religion has been hijacked by radicals, which currently are threatening most of the Western world. We keep hearing how the terrorists are a miniscule portion of Islam. If the truly devout and peaceful Muslims are really the vast majority, they should make an effort to regain control of their religion and toss out the bums. They would then be seen as siding with the Western world and would get much more support from others.
