Today after checking Whois.org I found that the above scammer sold my domain that UTEENS.COM (that was scammed from me) to this person:

    Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)
    Domain Name: UTEENS.COM
    Created on: 13-Mar-00
    Expires on: 13-Mar-09
    Last Updated on: 01-Apr-08

    Domain servers in listed order:
    NS1.FASTPARK.NET
    NS2.FASTPARK.NET

After contacting the "NEW" owner and telling him the saga of all that transpired, and giving him the advice to do a charge back on the scammer and to do the right thing and transfer my domain back to me, what does he do???

He cancels the financial transaction (saves his butt) and makes a deal with the scammer to transfer the domain name back to the scammer!!!

He then emails me telling me he transfered the domain back to the scammer!!!

This guy is only looking out for himself and to protect HIS pocketbook.

I sent him a link to a google search detailing the fraud.

Had I not contacted him he probably would have lost his money just like the rest of us.

But what does the buyer of UTEENS.COM, do after I gave him the chance to salvage his money?

He saves himself and turns on the person that warned him about the transaction he just made.

I am starting to lose faith in my fellow mankind.

    Why would someone do this??

    It smells awfully fishy.

Is this guy an innocent victim as he claims he is????
    Good question.

    You decide.

    Robert

PS- Here is the latest whois on the domain since transferred it back to the scammer:

Just found an interesting link that might help answer whether or not this guy is an "innocent person" regarding business ethics etc:

Has to be the same guy...it is the same email address.

    What do you guys think??

    Thanks,

Robert maybe you should state the whole story behind this before trying to smear my name all over the place. I purchased the domain with a lot of others via e-gold, which you know has no chargebacks. You contacted me telling me that I am a criminal for dealing in stolen property and that you are forwarding all my info to the FBI and Florida investigations, before even saying anything else about the matter. You then requested I simply turn the domain over to you, with out providing any proof what so ever (besides a post in a forum where you claimed it was stolen.)

In essense you were asking me to just walk away from $xxxx which I paid for the domain name and simply turn it over to you, because you didn't use an escrow service and had the domain supposedly stolen after using Paypal, which we all know is terrible for the domain trading, reverse the initial transaction of your sale. Not to be rude but if the domain was in fact stolen we are both the victim, not just yourself.

So what did I decide to do? I asked the seller for a refund and he agreed. I then gave you the full contact details of the guy that sold me the domain.

I'm sorry for your loss Robert, but just because you irresponsibly sold a domain name using paypal and not securing the funds before you transfered the domain, I'm not going to lose $xxxx.

All you need to do is simple contact Godaddy, tell them of the circumstances, and show them the proof that you had the transaction reversed at Paypal, and they should lock the domain and proceed with an investigation. And instead of me losing the money I paid for it, when I'm not at fault what-so-ever on this, godaddy will hopefully lock the domain into the account of the thief. If you need the number for the direct investigation department at Godaddy let me know and Ill find it for you.

    Brian

BTW here is what others thought of the situation who have years of experience in the domain industry:
    http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/452791-purchased-a-stolen-domain-now-what.html

And as for that link you posted, the author is a guy who I banned from one of my forums for racist/religious comments. You decide.

Typically they do, that's why I'm more and more using Moniker and dumping GD, even though I still have a few hundred domains there.

To be honest the only registrar that will reverse a transfer with 8 days is Netfirms. there prices are cheap for first year reg' and the renewal is about $11. But they provide the best customer service.
