I'm not sure, I don't keep up with them these days, but may go back into shares and things later on in life.

What I saw though is the shock market prices for some of the banks falling over the last week or so. Especially Northern Rock.

Been some biggish crashes hear recently (Australia). A few weeks ago, one of my managed funds dropped 20% in a day. Although, its climbed 10% since then, so not too bad fortunately.

The economy is considered to be doing well right now because businesses are doing well. Republicans are great for big business.

Stock market boom is over, the US is in a recession mode and it's all downhill from here. I would say Dow probably will be below 10k within a year or two
Price of gold will be fun to watch over the next few years

It's not about how Republicians are successful, it's about FED.

Here in Turkey Stock Market was decreasing, first Turkish Central Bank announced a change in interests (assuming a change in Fed) and later FED did it. Than stock market began to climb.

Since USA has %25 of the financial capacity of world, a movement there changes everywhere as a wave.

It's not a long term increase. China and India are climbing non-stop,
Russia, Mexica, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, Brazil, Iran and Turkey are also climbing. There are stronger companies now in these countries. They learned many things from Asian crisis, and they have huge money-stocks to save them from a possible financial crisis.

These money stocks give guarantee to International financiers, and they heavily create companies and factories in Developing Countries.

At least in Turkey, story is approximately in this way.
