You can buy stock images from Fotolia.com or iStockphoto.com and use them on the template. And when anyone buys that template you can charge the price for the image too and give him the original image file.

    Isn't it legal?

I checked Istock... and their rules say this

Because of all the copyright protection laws... the safest thing to do is grab a camera and take your own pictures, or contact someone you know that has a photo that would work for your purposes and get permission to use it for a template that will be sold.

What is it you need and for what purpose? I might have something in my files that I have copyrights to that will work.

What ethnic background? I am assuming around early twenties in age. Yes? What kind of pose? Sweet and nice or a bit more seductive without being trashy? Head and shoulder shot or head to toe? Realistic photo or more of a hand drawn/painted protrait look?

I've done photography yes... photo manipulation... web site design and coding... all of it :) My strength is in layout/design/ marketing so that's why I ask all the questions  Sorry to throw so many at you.. but it's what I'd ask if I were designing this for a client. The more information I have, the better I can find an image that serve your purposes.

I will see what I can come up with, I'm not sure what I have that would work... I'll have to dig through my files and see. Also.... what size do you need? And I assume you want it in .png to keep the background transparent. Yes?

I don't do much in templates, but iStockphoto.com has different licensing. You pay more but Im pretty sure there is a license available for print and templates where the photo is used repeatedly.

Here is there paragraph on templates - http://www.istockphoto.com/extended_license_provisions.php
Electronic Items for Resale or Other Distribution - Unlimited Run

Notwithstanding the restriction contained in section 4(a) of the Standard License Prohibitions prohibiting the use or display of the Content in items for resale, you shall be entitled with respect to this specific Content to produce an unlimited number of the following items for resale, license or other distribution:

    1. electronic templates for e-greeting or similar cards, electronic templates for web or applications development, PowerPoint or Keynote templates, screensavers, and email or brochure templates

You just need their extended license

sxc.hu has old images...also they are from people live so it's like i take a snapshot of my parents sitting on the couch..those are not professional images...i browsed 84 pages (60images/page) and couldn't find a damn good girl image for a template...so please cut it out with sxc..also you need to ask permission...which you may never get

look on flickr on the 'creative commons' search and find an image you are allowed to use commercially. Not onl yis it free but you have no licencing worries.

    Problem solved.
