Has anyone noticed that Google added stock charts for public companies? For example: [search=google]ebay[/search]
The funny thing is that the link goes to Yahoo finance. http://www.google.com/search?q=stocks:EBAY Also has anyone noticed that all the top listings seem to be eBay corporate sites, eBay is a large advertiser and has a lot of pull as eBay's founder is a giant shareholder at Google.
No, cannot see that. Here in the Netherlands it seems to be Vincent van Gogh day. See www.google.nl See?
The chart on the google search results page looks like their own chart. When I click on it, it takes me to Yahoo finance.
I hope they come up with some good chart application with better charts than MoneyCentral and bigcharts.com. I am hoping to see some good technical analysis tools.
Who is they, Google is just doing that to provide a more comprehensive search result showing a public companies stock price in real time when one searches. This does not mean that they are getting into the stock chart business.
That part is inexpected. Why would google do that? I would think they would want to get away from Yahoo
Yahoo is also a large shareholder in Google as well as the founders of eBay Google does not have any financial portal so they are giving many options to the searcher on that page. You did notice the Google frame at the top gives 4 options, this may be something Google is testing and they could also put paid links in that frame down the road in addition to ads.
Works fine for me. And shows how locality is becoming very important. You guys can only see the local stocks and cannot have part in our important cultural celebration. (Although I'd rather see your local stocks as well. )
